Please continue to pray for the families and friends of the Gullberg’s and other two climbers. It has been amazing to see everyone come together in love. What a guy! He will be missed. Update: http://www.katu.com/home/video/79273422.html?video=pop&t=a
Prayer
December 13, 2009
I just discovered that Luke, a fellow Lakeside Bible Camper has passed away. I unfortunately never got the chance to really meet him, but I know he was an inspiration to many. There will be a story about him on the “Today Show” tomorrow morning at 7am on NBC. Please be praying for his family, friends and girlfriend during this holiday season along with the other two climbers and their families. Though my heart sank when I read the news, I am happy to know that he is rejoicing with our heavenly Father above.
Jack Frost Nipping at Your Nose
December 8, 2009
It is more like ‘Jack frost devouring your nose…fingers and toes.’ I went to work today in -6 degree weather and boy was it hard to keep warm!! But actually when I got home from work I decided to eat ice cream instead of a bowl of soup. Ice cream is good any time of year! My computer is broken (yet again) and so now I am resorting to doing work in the library….ugh. I have much to do this week and three finals next week then I am done!!! One more semester (four months or 15 weeks) left until I graduate. Now with the cold weather you may find me…
- Changing my poor rabbits water twice a day…it freezes so quickly!
- Dancing in my room to Michael Jackson. No Joke. It keeps me moving and warm. I now have not 1, not 2 but 4 of his cds and I LOVE them!
- Sitting by the fire with a glass of tea attempting to do homework.
- Freezing my butt off at the dairy and swine center.
- Breaking the ice that has covered my horses water with a pitchfork.
- Studying at Bucer’s Coffee House Pub in Moscow…with my tea of the day meanwhile admiring a particular barista…
- Working out at the rec center. I have been taking Pilates classes with my roommate.
Okay, well I should use my library time wisely. Time to write a paper and make a powerpoint for my english presentation tomorrow…
Horse Plan
December 2, 2009
Haha, I was looking at a letter that my mom saved today. I wrote it to my parents on September 7, 2001 making me 13 years old. I remember thinking that this letter was SO convincing that my parents would never be able to say no to it! It was 6 years later when I was given my very own horse Spice. Although she was never what I had wished for my first horse I have fallen head over heels for my red headed, bipolar, lovable, kissable, four legged friend. She is a best friend, a dream come true-despite the fact that she does take all my money.
At frist I plan to save money to buy a horse under 1,000 dollars. My friend got a great horse for free so I think I shall do the same. Before I buy the horse I will buy a halter and lead rope and other many necessities. Aunt Kary will have a horse trailer so no need to worry about that. Andrew said he would be delighted to feed the horse (with help from his parents). Every month I will give Aunt Kary at least 20 dollars for the feed of the horse but because the horse will be out in a field it won’t need as much hay as other horses do. I will also ask for money for presents and save babysitting money to help buy needed tack. In the summer Aunt Kary said “Two week sleepovers” but of course I will not be staying that long. So at the most I will stay there for three nights spending time with my horse. During the school year Tuesdays and Thursdays are possibilities but coming up Saturday after ballet and staying until Sunday would be a for sure. Please let me be able to get a horse. It would BE A DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!!
I love looking back on things you wish for and find out that everything ends up for the better. If I got a horse then, I would probably not have ended up with Spice. I had my poor aunt VERY involved with this plan…haha and to think I am keeping my horse at her place this summer, 9 years later.
Dreams do come true!
My Refuge
November 29, 2009
I lay in bed. Unable to sleep. Unable to dream. Unable to rest. Thoughts. They race through my head, eyes wide open, glazed over and dry. I can feel my heart pounding and if I listen hard enough I can hear it also. Beat after beat I sigh. A sigh of release but not of relief. My covers are heavy and weigh me down much like the weight of the world. I feel restricted but safe. Their warmth and touch comfort me as I stare to the ceiling in thought. It is He who surrounds me. I know I need to want Him and I want to need Him. He is my refuge. My God, my Savior, You are my comfort. My eyelids grow heavy as I fall deep asleep, away from the world, in the comfort of His arms. I find rest in You O Lord, and in You alone.
Fun is Free!!
November 28, 2009
This is the saying that my mum and I live by. Fun is Free!!!
While shooting guns Allie sees a wheel…very, very tempting.
She just couldn’t resist!!!
Preparing herself for what is about to come.
Weeee!!! Fun IS free!!
I had to add this last picture in. Me and Red…what is it with me and red animals? I miss having chickens.
Confession
November 28, 2009
I have a confession to make…please prepare yourselves…
I LOVE Michael Jackson!! Oh my gosh-his music is amazing!!! I can’t believe I was too hard headed to ever really give him a chance and now I am a big fan! I have two of his cds in which I think I have every song almost memorized. His music makes me so happy and I find myself dancing all the time now. Yay! My current favorite album:
My favorite song on this album is probably: Just Good Friends
Two weeks until finals, one month until I get to go home…
Thanksgiving
November 25, 2009
I am sitting in a coffee shop after four hours of powerwashing at the swine center…I hope no one can smell the lovely scent of pigs on me… My internet is sadly not working at home at the moment and I was going crazy without having the internet for two days. Anyways, this will be my Thanksgiving post as I won’t be able to post tomorrow – work from 6:30am-5:30pm then I am going over to Kari’s to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family.

“You guys aren’t THAT annoying…”
November 23, 2009
This past weekend was a blast! I think the pictures can speak for themselves….
Herding cows on a 4- wheeler…so much fun!!
Cows running for the salt block
Taking a break to switch drivers and open gates
Learning how to shoot the gun…”You’ll shoot your eye out”
Kari attempting to hit one of the pumpkins
After a bit we got the hang of it. The remains of the pumpkin…
We stopped to visit the Grand Coulee Dam
And we stopped to visit “the wall”
Lastly we had a huge bonfire…
When I say huge I mean HUGE.
Sunday morning we woke up to snow and on the way home Kari got sucked off into the ditch. Thank the Lord that some hunters were driving by and we piled in the back of their car and they took us back to Ace’s for help. haha…
My artsy pictures of the weekend:
